taking music to people
girl piano truck is the inspired concept of Australian concert pianist and composer, Ambre Hammond.
Ambre’s vision is to put a piano in the back of a truck and travel to remote parts of the world, giving free concerts in schools and orphanages. The mission is to take music to underprivileged areas to uplift and inspire people.
Since 2013, Ambre has taken the project to India, Thailand, East Timor and Belarus.
In 2015, Ambre toured the Philippines (Manila, Cebu, Tacloban and Bohol) presenting 20 concerts in 12 days throughout various orphanages, community centres, a home for the abandoned and elderly people of Manila including a special concert at Payatas - the worlds largest inhabited landfill, home to 120,000 people.
girl piano truck will be made into a documentary to create a film of this unique and incredible project.
Ambre received a nomination for Australian of the Year 2016 and is a proud Peace Program Ambassador of the
United Nations of Australia.
